The flag of Taiwan is referred to as the “blue sky, white sun, wholly red earth.” The white color of the sun symbolizes equality and democracy, whereas the blue symbolizes liberty and nationalism.
The National flag of Taiwan (Republic of China) was adopted on May 5, 1921. The flag has been designed by Lu Haodong and Sun Yat-sen. The National Flag of Taiwan features a red background with a dark blue rectangle in the upper hoist-side corner bearing a white sun with 12 triangular rays.
