All of Australia and Antarctica are in the Southern Hemisphere, but the largest portion of Asia is in the Northern Hemisphere. Within Asia, the entire island of East Timor is in the Southern, along with most of Indonesia and part of the Maldives.
The Southern Hemisphere is the southern portion or half of the Earth. It begins at the equator at 0 degrees latitude and continues south into higher latitudes until it reaches 90 degrees south, the South Pole in the middle of Antarctica.
