The Southern Hemisphere is the half (hemisphere) of Earth that is south of the equator.
All of Australia and Antarctica are in the Southern Hemisphere, but the largest portion of Asia is in the Northern Hemisphere. The Southern Hemisphere is the southern portion or half of the Earth. It begins at the equator at 0 degrees latitude and continues south into higher latitudes until it reaches 90 degrees south, the South Pole in the middle of Antarctica.
